This Sonali Indian Takeaway brand identity design project delivered a complete visual identity system for Sonali Finest Indian Takeaway in Colchester — from logo and branding through to practical branded collateral including a takeaway bag that customers carry through the streets every day.

Sonali Finest Indian Takeaway needed a brand identity design that felt warm, memorable, and premium — reflecting the quality of the food and the long-standing relationship the restaurant has with the local Colchester community. The identity needed to work across print, digital, packaging, and signage without losing coherence.

Brand Identity Design Approach

The Sonali brand identity centres on a gold wheat sheaf emblem set within a circular frame — a symbol that communicates nourishment, quality, and tradition simultaneously. The deep crimson and gold colour palette was chosen to feel rich and appetising while avoiding the visual cliches common in the Indian food sector. A clean serif wordmark with an elegant subtitle creates a mark that looks premium at any size.

Branded Takeaway Bag

The Sonali Indian Takeaway brand identity design was extended to a printed takeaway bag — one of the most visible pieces of street-level advertising a food business has. The bag features the full logo, contact information, opening hours, QR code for online ordering, and website URL across front and side panels.
